On Fox News Sunday, neo-con Bill Kristol suggested that Bush might launch an attack on Iran if he thought Sen. Obama might win. Bears repeating. Here is Kristol, who is probably channeling Cheney, letting loose the suggestion that Bush would release the dogs of war again, this time based on the premise that Sen. Obama would not be willing to open the Gates of Hell and turn the whole region into a " fireball ". Bellicose, angry faced John McCain, certainly plans to attack Iran, so if it looks like he will win, Bush will just leave it to him. But if that pesky Obama is winning then the calculation changes, with the intention of forcing yet another war and foreign policy nightmare on the new president Obama.
Of course this is chilling, and falls easily into that shadow world of " October surprise " manipulations of our elections. And the suggestion goes to the core of what our " mission " is in the region : to seize and occupy the oil fields ( LBJ's 1967 wet dream ), manipulate domestic elections, sell oil at enormous prices creating enormous wealth for the few, and to eliminate another potential adversary of the state of Israel. Fortune magazine recently quoted McCain strategist Charlie Black saying that" McCain would be helped by ' another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Certainly it be a big advantage to him, said Black. " Have these people no sense of decency?
Say, just who are these " terrorists", anyhow? Can you just give them a call -- nudge, nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean ?--- and tweak the election, frame it in terms that make bellicose, angry faced, one foot in the grave Sen. McCain look more ' presidential '? Sen. Obama is being set up here, along with the rest of us, for a major disaster. I'm afraid that we will all soon be looking back fondly at the " good old days " when gas was $4.09, eating cold beans out of a can with Debbie Downer, under a derelict highway overpass.
From the Raw Story article by Andrew Lemore, Sunday, June 22, 2008 :
" Chris Wallace : So you're suggesting that he ( Bush ) might in fact, if Obama's going to win the election, either before or after, launch a military strike ?
Kristol : I don't know. I mean, I think he would worry about it. On the other hand, you can't - make foreign policy based on guesses of election results. I think Israel is worried though. I mean what signal goes to Ahmadinejad if Obama wins on a platform of unconditional negotiations and obvious reluctance to even talk about using military force ? "
- The Fox News Sunday clip fleshes out this terrible tableaux, with a hideously grinning Kristol, the earnestly twerpy Wallace and the freakin Brit Hume looking on ominously, with all kinds of swirling madness framing his waxen visage. And while Kristol does not think you make foreign policy based on future elections, you can certainly use foreign policy to CHANGE the results of the election, now can't you ? And if there was another terror attack, which could then be used to justify an attack on Iran, based on an Iranian passport found miraculously intact in the smoking rubble, all the better. Or heck, maybe we can provoke a terror attack by lashing out at Iran, after Israel send in it's American made jet planes with the American provided bunker buster bombs.
A perfect storm is coming, and unless these fuckers are confronted, and marched in front of Impeachment Hearing panels real soon, they are going to bring on real chaos and misery to all of us. Iraq is a Sunday picnic compared to what is going to happen when we launch a war of aggression on Iran. Iran has important friends in Moscow and Beijing. Perhaps we would like to go to war with them too ?
Heads up!!!The time to stop this madness from progressing any further is now, not after the bombs rain down.
