If you think there is pain at the gas pump now, just think what oil will do when Israel launches air strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. Israel is determined to maintain its own " balance of terror" over the entire region, green-lighted by Washington, brandishing 250 nuclear weapons of its own. Iran clearly is feeling the pressure from either side of its territory, with American forces in Iraq engaging in a six year long war of aggression  on its people, with the goal of privatizing Iraq's oil resources and handing them out to big oil companies. The American War Department intends to maintain 50 military bases in Iraq,provide immunity from prosecution for U.S. forces and the thugs and goons of private security firms like Blackwater, despite the fact that George Bush's war was launched on lies and false pretenses.

  How do you complete a mission that is based on lies and deceptions ? You don't. You can not make honorable a endeavor pretexted on bald faced lies. Bush and Cheney have dishonored the U.S. military by sending them into harms way based on massive deception.

  On the other side of Iran's borders, American armed forces continue to battle in Afghanistan, now joined by NATO contingents, blowback from the creation of the mujaheddin fighters, recruited by the C.I.A., and organized, at U.S. request, by Osama bin Laden, to battle the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980's. With foreign military forces occupying countries on either side and an American- armed Israel threatening preemptive attacks soon, things are becoming very tense, especially since the Bush administration clearly hopes to " frame " the presidential election in November in military terms favorable to Sen. John McCain. Israel could kill two birds with one stone, hobbling Iran's military/industrial centers on one hand , while bolstering Sen. McCain's national security, war hawk status, making Sen. Obama look young, weak, and out of touch with " reality "- the grown up reality of adults waging war. How very mature.

What is more, these foreign entanglements, and continuing assertions of " unconditional support " for Israel, regardless of its behavior, are drawing the United States into greater and greater peril. Sen. Obama has already fallen into the rhetorical trap set by the neo-con Republicans, asserting his own unconditional support for Israel. There is now a clear litmus test for the U.S. presidency, which mandates that anyone seeking the nations highest office must grovel at the feet of the Israeli government, from which sadly much of our foreign policy is promulgated. ( Google search USS Liberty and prepare to be astonished ) This is sad and shameful, and a sign of great trouble to come. When Israel attacks, probably before our domestic election, Sen. Obama will be falling all over himself to match the enthusiastic rhetorical support for Israel's mad plans uttered by Sen. McCain.The other shoe will drop, and drop rapidly as Iran, or Hezbollah, lashes out at Israel, which Bush and Cheney will  merrily pounce upon, and American attacks on Iran will then follow.

 Forget about any nations right to self-defense when attacked : Iran's efforts to defend itself will be met by shocking and awful retaliation by the U.S. War Machine. Then the real fun begins, with oil rocketing upwards without any ceiling--- $200, $250... $ 300 a barrel. The pain we are all experiencing at the gas pump and the grocery store now will be nothing compared to the chaos that Israel's actions will bring down upon this nation, and the other industrialized countries, as their economies collapse under the weight of oil gone ballistic. The poorer countries of the world, already reeling from record high oil and food prices, will be plunged into even greater chaos.

But hey, you know, we gotta protect little nuclear armed Israel, ringed by angry Arabs and pesky Persians- right? To suggest otherwise would be anti-semitic, and now even un-American, now that Israel has seemingly become an official part of the United States, as worthy of our utmost aggression as New Jersey or Louisiana would be if threatened by some shadowy Persian bad guys. The calculus is clear : Israel can do no wrong, and Bush and Cheney have nothing to lose,( and possibly an election to win ) by going totally ballistic when Israel makes its move. Sen Obama needs to be very careful here, because he has already engaged in language which also could be seen as endorsing Israel's future military actions. This is the tail wagging the tiger here, with Israel providing the pretext for even wider and more awful war in the Middle East, up to and including possible nuclear exchanges with Iran's patron Russia.

 So if you have been looking forward to nuclear warfare, bunker busters and mushroom clouds, all your life, heck- you might not have long to wait for the real deal, and much higher food and fuel oil prices, and the possible collapse of what is left of our economy after 7 years of neglect, greed, and outright fraud by Bush and Cheney . The wolf is at the door...

Why those bastards have not been impeached yet is beyond me. They lie us into a war without end which never needed to be, have killed 4,000 of our own troops, injured 90,000 more, to say nothing of butchering say, 100,000 Iraqi civilians, 2/3rd's of which are women and children----- and that feckless useless bitch Nancy Pelosi says impeachment is not on the table !!!! ( The U.S. war department does not count Iraqi casualties, determining those deaths to be of no importance. Very mature.... and compassionately Christian. )

Now, news from the New York Times, June 20, in an article by Micheal Gordon and Eric Schmitt, " US Says Israeli Exercise Seemed Directed at Iran ", describing Israel's recent " practice run ", preparing for our very own church picnic Armageddon, so much desired by the rabid Christian rapture right.

Shaul Mofaz, a former Israeli defense minister who is now a deputy prime minister, warned in a recent interview with the Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot that Israel might have no choice but to attack. " If Iran continues with its program for developing nuclear weapons, we will attack ", Mr. Mofaz said in an interview published on June 6, the day after the unpublicized exercise ended." Attacking Iran, in order to stop its nuclear plans, will be unavoidable . "


.... " In 1981, Israel attacked an Iraqi nuclear plant at Osirak. In September, Israel bombed a structure in Syria that American officials said housed a nuclear reactor built with the aid of North Korea."



What is clear here is that Israel can and  will attack preemptively. They have in the past and they will again, because they have great confidence, that when push comes to shove, the American political establishment-of both parties,( - a two headed bird with two right wings flying in circles ),and now including our military " in theater "- will support them unconditionally, regardless of what consequences may come to pass.

$ 4.00 a gallon will seem cheap if Israel pulls this off, and we will all pay dearly for our foreign entanglements, which have undermined our countries best interests, betrayed by our so-called leaders, who preach their ultimate loyalty to a foreign power.
