The late filmmaker Aaron Russo made a film called " From Freedom to Fascism ", describing the numerous ways the United States has come to resemble a fascist regime,- especially since 9/11, which created a geyser of unchecked power for the Bush executive branch. Russo asks us all to stop being good Republicans, or good Democrats, and to wake up and be good Americans and start actively questioning how our society is being " re-structured ".
On the Freedom to Fascism website, Russo asks the following questions :
" Are you aware that by May of 2008 the law will require you to carry a National Identification Card ?
Are you aware that there are plans being developed to have all Americans embedded with a Radio Frequency Identification computer chip under their skin so they can be tracked wherever they go ?
Are you aware that the Supreme Court has ruled that the government has no authority to impose a direct un-apportioned tax on the American people, and that the 16th Amendment does not give the government that power ?
Are you aware that computer voting machines can be rigged and that there is no way to ensure that the vote is counted? "
Congressman Ron Paul ( R-Texas ) mentions this film frequently, suggesting that " soft fascism " is taking hold in the United States. On " Meet the Press ", December 23, 2007, he told Tim Russert that the United States has adopted " fascist leanings ".
From Raw Story :
... " Changes in the country's tone, says the Congressman, such as the Patriot Act, questioning dissenters patriotism during the war, and civil liberties abuses indicate corporatism, or " soft fascism ", namely a stronghold by the military-industrial complex on society.
" We're not moving toward a Hitler-type fascism, but we're moving toward a softer fascism ; loss of civil liberties, corporations running the show, big government in bed with big business. So you have the military-industrial complex, you have the medical-industrial complex, you have the financial industry, you have the communications industry. They all go to Washington and spend hundreds of millions of dollars.
" That's where the control is", says the Congressman, "I call that ' soft fascism '.... something that is very dangerous . "
Ron Paul also likes to reference Upton Sinclair's prediction about how fascism will come to our country : " When fascism comes to this country, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying the cross ", a strangely prescient prediction of Mike Huckabee's campaign for president.
Ron Paul is telling the truth, a rare thing in todays political climate. National I.D. cards with embedded RFID chips are being rolled out in May 2008, which will allow citizens to be remotely tracked, like so much cattle. Besides having our every movement tracked, the powers that be want to put RFID chips on every physical item, so that your every purchase can also be tracked. The governments view is that examining every purchase will help the authorities combat terrorism.
( Huh? I thought the terrorists were rogue Saudi's , blowback from Charlie Wilson's war in Afghanistan. )
Destron-Fearing pioneered the tagging and tracking of cattle in the 1950's. Now with the Verichip, the digital devils are put under your pets skin, your childs skin, your wandering Alzheimers- ravaged relatives skin... and eventually you too will also be chipped and tracked, or else.
Feeling safer yet ? The implants have been connected to the growth of tumors, but what are a few tumors when you are talking about the safety of Amerikkka , right?
This is what is coming, a database human inventoried Amerikkka, all high-tech and invisible, black clad storm troopers with remote scanners. Hitler had his own crude analogue, with tatooed forearms and IBM punch cards to keep track of undesirables. Now IBM has joined forces with Verichip to create an even better human tracking system, and the digital devil is in the details, tracked by GPS satellites. This technology is inherently intrusive and totalitarian, and its implementation will mean the end of our country as we have known it.
My skin crawls...
