The death toll continues to mount by the moment around Sumatra, epicenter of the Christmas disaster. Tens of thousands of people are still missing. Bodies are being hastily buried as they begin to rot. The morbid sweetness of battered bloated corpses wafts through the air. The bodies of fishes, all belly up, mixed in with  the bodies of pigs and human beings, all bobbing in the angry seas. More grisly finds wash up all the time, mixed in with debris and raw human sewage. There are not enough coffins to go around, and the ones available are often too small for the large bloating bodies of Europeans.

King Death is having a really big week.

Paradise is unbound. The earth is fighting back An entire locomotive was swept off its tracks into a swamp with over 800 dead there alone. The number just keeps climbing. Cars and boats are tossed about like toys, buildings splintered and shattered. The mind reels. The authorities are saying that this disaster is unprecedented in scope --- that it will take months to address even basic needs, let alone rebuild. Very few can afford insurance in this part of the world. Some are now suggesting that the actual death toll may be 100 - 150,000.  Lacking any sanitation, electricity, clean water , food or shelter, disease is already breaking out. The areas effected could well become a major disease vector, spreading contagion well beyond the areas of destruction. Thousands and thousands of rotting corpses, destroyed enviroments, survivors dislocated , bird migrations changing--- this could become a much more serious structural problem than Osama and his annoying videos. Unforeseen chaos may result from this disaster, chaos and disorder and misery on a scale that the world community may well be incapable of dealing with effectively. Millions of people need help - yesterday. And with little or no infrastructure remaining, what aid does arrive will be difficult to deliver with roads and bridges washed away. Bottled water will be like gold in the days ahead.

A pandemic is brewing. Did the tsunami release the 1918 Kraken ???

Happy New Year.

Bush offers his  condolences, in his usual sepia-toned ink, fomulated with  dried dog droppings, in a tiny mortar and pestle. A paltry 35 million in aid has he offered to date. Bush has other more important things to drain the Treasury with --- like the dusty metallic hellstorm he has made out of Mesopotamia.

Beyond stingy !!!! Where is his Christian compassion now ??? Why did NOAA know Saturday afternoon and do next to  nothing ??? If Europe had a tsunami headed it's way, dont you think we would alert our cheese- eating freinds ???

Baise Moi.
